Students are reading a biography  for the month of December and completing a''It's in the news ''article Project: Completed projects are due Tuesday Jan. 3rd.Remember to create a first draft of your article that must be edited and revised.Pass in first draft with your final project.

S.S. Write 3 VIPs for each section of your Ancient civilzation project in two column notes. (Location, Religion, Governmnet, Slavery)

Social Studies:  Finish 5 facts and a picture about the Inca civilization. Also, read your handout and decide which civilization you would like to choose for your upcoming writing project. (Maya, Aztec or Inca)

ELA:  Read for 30 minutes and write Monday night's entry in the Reading Response log.  Mrs. Martin will now be checking every day to see that homework is being done each night.  Too many students are forgetting it on Friday and unfortunately receiving 4 nights of missing homework.

Social Studies:  No homework tonight

ELA:  Read for 30 minutes and write a paragraph on lined paper.  Then  read another 30 minutes and write another paragraph (2 complete paragraphs: 5-8 detailed sentences) Weekend paragraphs can be a summary or retell, but weekday entries are written with the Reading Response topics (prompts).

Social Studies:  No homework

ELA:  Read for 30 minutes and complete Thursday Reading log.  The whole reading log is due every Friday and is graded.  Do your best work.

Social Studies:  Bring back all papers (signed) in Family Envelope.

ELA:  Read for 60 minutes then write two paragraphs on lined paper. (Remember to write at least 5 sentences per paragraph.) Students may choose one of the reading prompts or may write a summary of what they read.  (Summaries are only allowed for weekend homework.) Mon.- Thurs. homework should always be a paragraph from one of the prompts on the Reading Response list.

Social Studies:  We watched a movie today about the Ancient Maya civilization.  Please finish the 5 facts and a picture sheet.

ENJOY YOUR LONG COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND.

REMINDERS: Bring back signed progress reports, your family communication folders, and $3.00 for the agenda book.
